You want your lines softened, but you still want to look like yourself. You may want to look less tense between your brows or see a smoother forehead in photos without losing the expressions that make you, you.
That is where a personalized approach to neurotoxin treatment matters.
At R&R Skin and Aesthetics in Pinecrest, Florida, your treatment is performed by a board certified nurse practitioner with experience assessing facial anatomy, movement, and the way different muscles work together. We offer Botox® Cosmetic, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Daxxify®, with recommendations based on your face and your goals.
Whether this is your first appointment or you have been receiving neurotoxins for years, we take time to understand what you like, what you would like to change, and what you want to preserve.
What Can Neurotoxin Injections Do?
Neurotoxins temporarily reduce selected muscle activity to soften lines that form with repeated facial expressions.
Common concerns include:
• Frown lines between the eyebrows that can make you look tense or upset
• Horizontal forehead lines that become noticeable when you raise your brows
• Crow’s feet that appear around the eyes when you smile or squint
Depending on your anatomy and the product used, treatment may also address selected concerns involving muscle activity in the lower face and neck. Approved uses vary by product, and some treatment options are considered off label. Your nurse practitioner will explain what applies to your plan.
The goal is to address the movement that bothers you while preserving the expression you want.
Why Your Assessment Matters
Two people can point to the same forehead line and need very different treatment plans.
Muscle strength, brow position, eyelid anatomy, and the way you use your forehead all influence how treatment should be approached. Your previous experience matters, too. Perhaps you loved your last result, wished you had more movement, or felt that your brows looked different than you expected.
At R&R, those details guide our recommendations.
We assess your face at rest and in motion, discuss your preferences, and explain what treatment can realistically accomplish. Sometimes a gradual approach makes the most sense. Sometimes a line needs attention to skin quality as well as muscle movement.
You should leave understanding why a treatment was recommended for you.
Will I Still Look Like Myself?
That is the goal.
A common concern is looking frozen, having an unfamiliar brow shape, or feeling that everyone will know you had something done.
Placement and dosing influence how your result looks and feels. We discuss how much movement you would like to keep and consider how treating one area may affect another.
If you prefer a softer result with more expression, tell us. If there is something you disliked about a previous treatment, we want to hear that, too. Those conversations are part of creating a result that feels right for you.
Which Is Better: Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, or Daxxify®?
You do not need to arrive knowing which brand to choose.
All four temporarily reduce targeted muscle activity, but their formulations, dosing, and expected duration differ. Units are specific to each product and cannot be compared directly across brands.
Your nurse practitioner will help you choose based on your treatment area, goals, previous response, and preferences.
If a product has worked well for you before, that is useful information. If you are new to treatment, we will walk you through the options without making the decision feel complicated.
What Is the Appointment Like?
Your appointment begins with a conversation and facial assessment. We review your medical history, discuss your concerns, and agree on a treatment plan before proceeding.
The injections themselves are typically quick and performed with a fine needle. Most patients describe the injections as brief, tiny pinches that are very tolerable. Small bumps, redness, or tenderness may occur afterward, and bruising is possible.
Most patients return to their usual daily activities after their visit. We will review aftercare and explain what to expect as your results develop.
You will also know when to return for your follow up and how to contact us with questions.
When Will I See My Results?
Results develop gradually. You may begin noticing changes within the first several days, with the effect continuing to develop afterward.
We generally assess your response at a follow up around two to three weeks after treatment. This gives us an opportunity to review your movement, discuss how the result feels, and determine whether any adjustment is appropriate.
If you are planning treatment for an important event, give yourself time for the result to develop and for follow up, especially if it is your first visit.
How Long Will Results Last?
Results are temporary, and longevity varies by product, treatment area, dose, and individual response.
At your consultation, we will discuss the expected timeline for the product recommended to you. As we learn how you respond, we can help you plan future appointments around your preferences.
There is no need to commit to a maintenance schedule before you have experienced your results.
What If My Lines Are Visible Even When My Face Is Relaxed?
Neurotoxins can soften the muscle movement contributing to those lines, but deeper lines may also reflect changes in the skin itself.
This is where having several treatment options matters.
At R&R Skin and Aesthetics, we also offer treatments that address skin texture and quality, including microneedling and laser resurfacing. If your concern would benefit from another approach, we will explain why and help you decide what fits your goals, comfort level, and budget.
You do not have to do everything at once. A staged plan may be appropriate.
What Should I Know About Safety?
Your treatment is a medical procedure, and your assessment includes a review of your health history, medications, and previous treatments.
Possible side effects include bruising, swelling, headache, temporary asymmetry, or unwanted muscle weakness, including eyelid or eyebrow drooping. Your nurse practitioner will explain relevant risks and discuss whether treatment is appropriate for you.
Let us know about any swallowing, breathing, or neuromuscular conditions, and whether you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Do not stop prescribed medications for a cosmetic appointment without guidance from the clinician who manages them.
We want you to feel comfortable asking questions and confident that you understand your options.
Read the official BOTOX® Cosmetic safety information, including important warnings and possible side effects. Safety information is specific to each product; your nurse practitioner will review the information relevant to your treatment.
